HE the GCCSG: The Position of the Cooperation Council Countries is Firm and Unwavering Regarding the Palestinian Cause, and the Palestinian People Obtaining all their Legitimate Rights, Including all their Occupied Territories

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the position of the GCC countries is firm and unwavering regarding the Palestinian cause and the attainment by the Palestinian people of all their legitimate rights, including all their occupied territories.

This came during the participation of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council with His Excellency Mr Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, in the dialogue session entitled “The State of the Arab World,” on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2025 , on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the session, His Excellency the Secretary General mentioned that the Palestinian cause is one indivisible issue that must be resolved in accordance with the international and UN resolutions issued by the United Nations and the Security Council.

He stressed that the international community must fulfill its responsibilities to stand with the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights and to counter anything that might hinder this.

His Excellency also pointed out that the GCC countries and the United States of America are linked by historical relations and common interests, and that the United States appreciates the role and status of the Cooperation Council at the regional and international levels, and that both sides have clear and shared visions in maintaining security and stability in the region.

In conclusion, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi underscored the importance of intensifying and promoting diplomatic and peaceful efforts towards a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, and guaranteeing the rights of refugees, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions.
