King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) is revolutionising prenatal care with innovation and precision medicine. By screening over 300 genes, KFSHRC has provided early genetic insights to 1,104 pregnant women, preventing 276 genetic disorders and saving the Saudi healthcare system 360 million riyals.
Through its Preventive Fetal Screening Program, KFSHRC identifies genetic risks and delivers targeted care during critical pregnancy stages. Utilising cutting-edge technologies such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT), these advancements enhance diagnostic precision and safety, benefiting 1,500 families annually. The program has also expanded its capacity to detect over 500 additional genetic conditions, empowering families with early knowledge, reducing the incidence of severe genetic disorders, and improving new-born health outcomes.
