Tahweel Integrated Company, the specialized in supplying of sophisticated high-tech plastic packaging systems solutions, held a large reception in Riyadh which was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Trade and Investment, Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral resources, the Saudi Exports Development Authority, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), General Investment Authority, as well as from Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the occasion of the announcement of the strategic partnership between the Saudi company Tahweel Integrated Company and Sonoco.
During the ceremony, the partnership between both parties was announced in the presence of senior executives of the two companies, in addition to representatives from the private and public sectors. In his speech on this occasion, Abdulrahman Al Omran, CEO of Tahweel Integrated Company, said: “With your company, we celebrate today the announcement of an important strategic step in Tahweel in the development of its works in Saudi Arabia, we are pleased to now announce our strategic partnership with one of the most important international companies working in the field of plastic and paper packaging. Our partnership today with Sonoco Company.
He added: “Tahweel Company is moving at a steady pace to contribute actively in achieving the goals of Kingdom’s Vision 2030, towards the industrial development to from a tributary of the national economy tributaries and increasing of non-oil exports, in addition to the company’s contribution in delivering products that comply with international standards for environmental protection. The company is very keen to attract foreign investments through its expansion in different areas and setting up local plants, and the provision of products to meet the needs of the local market, including products that conform to the requirements of housing projects, and thus contributing to the increasing local content in line with the national transformation program and Kingdom’s 2030 vision.”
Sonoco Company is one of the most important global industrial companies which was founded about 100 years ago and kept on the development of its products in plastic and paper packaging, and managed to have more than 300 plants in 85 countries worldwide.
Meanwhile, Mr. Adam Wood, Vice President & General Manager of Industrial Converted Products of at Sonoco, said: ”As I think about choosing where to open a new plant for Sonoco and our very first in the Middle East and in light of the recent developments and objectives of the Kingdom in vision 2030, I could think of no place more fitting than in a country that sits at the crossroads of the world and has for thousands of years been the center of trade and industry in the region.
